Former Singer Joanne Reported to Have Passed Away at the Age of 26

Sports Donga has reported that former singer Joanne has passed away at the young age of twenty-six.

The report states that, according to an industry insider who spoke with Joanne’s family over the phone, the singer was involved in a car accident the day before Thanksgiving (November 26), and passed away on December 2, after having been in a coma for about a week.

Joanne debuted in 2001 with the song “Good Day Sunshine.” She was 13 years old at the time, and was even referred to as the ‘second BoA‘ for being such a young talent. The singer further gained popularity in 2002 through the SBS sitcom “Orange.” However, due to family matters, Joanne gave up singing and left for the United States.

Joanne came to Korea in 2012 to participate in Mnet’s audition program “Superstar K4,” but ultimately returned to the United States.

At the time of Joanne’s accident, she was residing in Cerritos County in Los Angeles.
