Lee Hyori Apologizes for “Organic” Mishap
Singer Lee Hyori made a formal apology over the controversy of her beans and whether or not they were organic.
She had posted a picture of her bean crops and labeled them as organic on her blog on November 8. One netizen found her post and reported it to the National Agricultural Products Quality Management Service, which sparked the entire controversy. According to an official from the Environment-Friendly Agriculture Division, a product must be approved before it can be labeled as organic.
On her personal blog, she wrote, “There may be a lot of confusion due to the many articles, but I have not yet been penalized with any punitive measures. We are in the middle of the second analysis of our field, but getting the results may take some time,” she wrote. “I’m sorry for worrying everyone, and I have learned a lot from this incident.”
“I apologize for my actions, and I will take any punitive measures taken against me. I thank those that pointed out my mistakes, and I will be more focused and diligent in my future works,” she apologized.
