"Dad! Where Are We Going?" Goes off Air for 6 to 12 Months to Reformat Program

The MBC family-oriented program “Dad! Where Are We Going?” is choosing to take a break and go off air to make time for some changes in the show.

While “Dad! Where Are We Going” will be going off the air temporarily, it will be replaced by a new program as well as the Season 2 of “Real Men” by the first half of 2015.

According to a statement made by a representative from MBC Entertainment to Newsen on December 9, the show will be off the air for a minimum of six months up to a year and will come up with a re-formatted version.

During the time that the show is off the air, there is a strong possibility that a new concept program which willl involve pets will take the place of “Dad! Where Are We Going?”

MBC’s “Dad! Where Are We Going?,” which began airing in January 2013, features a group of celebrity fathers and their children who go on a trip to spend quality time together. The show’s format has become so popular that it spawned international versions in China, where it has a huge following, as well as Russia and Vietnam, which started airing this year.

The show has also won several international awards including the Platinum Award in the TV entertainment category of WorldFest-Houston International Film 2014 and Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union Prize 2013. More recently, it has been nominated for the “Non-scripted Entertainment” category of the Third International Emmy Kids Awards.
