SBS drama “Pinocchio” is the number one Wednesday-Thursday drama.

According to media information company Nielsen Korea, the December 10 episode of “Pinocchio” recorded a 10.1 percent national viewership rating. Although this was a 0.1 decrease from last week’s rating, it was still enough to snag “Pinocchio” first place among other Wednesday-Thursday dramas airing in the same time slot.

This is the second time “Pinocchio” has won out its rival, MBC’s “Mr. Baek.” The first time was last month on November 27, when “Pinocchio” recorded a 10.4 percent national audience rating. This week, “Mr. Baek” came in at 9.1 percent and KBS’ “The King’s Face” at 6.2 percent.

“Pinocchio” came in first by other measurements, too. According to Nielsen Korea, “Pinocchio” topped the Seoul metropolitan area ratings, recording 11.9 percent, as well as the 2049 ratings, recording 7.7 percent.

The 2049 ratings chart is especially telling of a drama’s popularity because it calculates viewership among 20- to 40-year-olds, taking into account factors that traditional ratings preclude, like streaming and SNS. Advertisers therefore pay most attention to the 2049 ratings.
