JYJ’s Jaejoong and Actress Go Sung Hee Confirmed to Star as Lovers in KBS Drama “Spy”
It has been confirmed that JYJ’s Jaejoong and actress Go Sung Hee will be starring alongside one another in KBS’ upcoming Friday drama “Spy.”
On December 12, Jaejoong’s agency, C-JeS Entertainment revealed, “Jaejoong and Go Sung Hee will play lovers in their first production together.” It is said that Jaejoong will be taking on the role of Seon Woo, a genius analyst with a brilliant mind that works for the National Intelligence Service (NIS), analyzing information from North Korea. Go Sung Hee will play the character of Yoon Jin, an average office worker who holds a secret that no one knows.
The agency also shared, “Jaejoong’s character is one who’s tough-minded when working, but in front of the family and girlfriend he loves, he shows a very warm side.”
Go Sung Hee’s agency, Saram Entertainment, added, “The character of Yoon Jin, Seon Woo’s girlfriend, appears to be calm and innocent from the outside. However, she keeps a secret that she can’t share with anyone.”
On picking up this upcoming drama, Jaejoong explained, “I really wanted to do this production because I was drawn to the refreshing subject and charming character. I’m looking forward to working with senior actors that I respect,” while Go Sung Hee expressed, “It’s new and exciting to act in my first production for KBS. I will try my best to make viewers more and more curious about my secretive character.”
“Spy” is based on an Israeli drama called “The Gordin Cell.” It will be a drama about an ex-spy mother and her son who works for the National Intelligence Service. It will be a new hybrid drama, mixing the usual family drama genre with spy thriller elements.
Meanwhile, “Spy” is expected to air its first broadcast on January 9 at 9:20 p.m. (KST) on KBS. What are your thoughts on this co-star pairing?
