[Updated] Large Fire Occurs on Set of Drama "Maids," Staff Member Reported to Have Passed After Being Trapped

It has been reported that a large fire occurred on the set of the JTBC drama “Maids.”

On December 13, a fire was reported at around 1:23 p.m. (KST) on the set of “Maids,” which is located behind a factory building in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi-do.

While firemen rushed to the scene in order to battle the fire, it has been said that one of the production staff members is missing and is most likely still trapped inside the set building. The fire-fighting officials are currently in search of the missing staff member, who is reported to be a 35 year old female. While it is unclear whether the staff member was inside when the accident occurred, it is true that no one has been able to get in contact with her.

Meanwhile, it is said that the fire occurred while the drama’s production staff and cast members were having lunch outside. The cause of the fire is still unknown at the moment.

In light of this unfortunate accident, a drama rep explained, “There will be no broadcast today. Our main priority is to take care of this incident.”

Update:

It has been reported that the missing female staff member has lost her life to the fire. After fire officials searched inside the building, they discovered the staff member on the second floor of the set, after being unable to escape the fatal fire.
