Shin Jung Hwan Gets Married in a Private Ceremony

On December 20, singer and TV personality Shin Jung Hwan tied the knot with his girlfriend in a wedding hall in Gangnam, Seoul. He and his bridge had a private ceremony with only family and friends.

Shin Jung Hwan and his new wife dated for a year with a view to marriage. She works at a design company.

In the wedding invitations which were sent via text message, Shin Jung Hwan expressed his genuine enthusiasm about getting married, “Although it is winter, [the season] when everything freezes over, it is for us a time of new beginnings. Even if you are busy, please come and share this [day] with us. It will be a huge warmth to our lives.”

Shin Jung Hwan debuted in 1994 as a member of musical group Roo’ra and then in 1998 formed male duo Country Kko Kko. Known for his glibness, he enjoyed a remarkable degree of popularity, especially as he transitioned into the entertainment world as an MC and comedian. However, in 2010, his career took a plunge after he was arrested for illegal gambling. He was released on parole in December of 2011.
