Musicians Vote Best Music of 2014, Including g.o.d, Sistar, Taeyang, and More
Media outlet MBN recently surveyed 144 currently active musicians to see what music they thought was the best in 2014. The artists they surveyed included Heo Gak, Orange Caramel, Jung Joon Young, GOT7, BTS, 4Minute,Roy Kim, Hello Venus, Beast, Sistar, Girl’s Day, B1A4, and more.
For best artist of the year, g.o.d received the most votes with 23 votes out of 144. Second place was tied between four artists, who each received 10 votes: Seo Taiji, A Pink, Sistar, and Beast.
Best song of the year went to Soyou and Junggigo‘s “Some,” which won by a landslide with 49 votes out of 144. In second place was Taeyang‘s “Eyes, Nose, Lips,” which received 30 votes. Third place was a tie between three, with seven votes each: Park Hyo Shin‘s “Wild Flower,” Block B‘s “Her,” and 2PM‘s “Go Crazy.”
The best album of 2014 went to Taeyang’s “Rise,” who received 37 votes. IU came at second place with her remake album “Flower Bookmark,” which got 24 votes from musicians. Epik High‘s “Shoebox” was at third place with 14 votes.
WINNER was chosen as the best new artist of 2014, getting 44 votes. Mamamoo came at second place with 36 votes, while AKMU was at third with 16 votes.
The most improved artist of the year, based on the growth the artist went through, was AOA, who received 20 votes. EXID followed closely in suit with 19 votes, in second place. A Pink came at third place with 14, while BTS and Teen Top placed fourth and fifth with 13 and 12 votes each, respectively.
As the artists’ role models, most chose g.o.d, who got 15 votes. Seo Taiji and G-Dragon came at second place with 11 votes. Park Hyo Shin placed fourth with 10, while Taeyang placed fifth with nine votes.
