Actor Choi Jin Hyuk to Collaborate with Royal Pirates on Special Rock Stage for MBC Drama Awards

Actor Choi Jin Hyuk of MBC’s “Gu Family Book” and “Pride and Prejudice”  fame will be showing his rocker alter ego at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards!

According to a broadcasting representative on December 29, Choi Jin Hyuk will have a special performance with the rock band Royal Pirates at the 2014 MBC Drama Awards which will take place on December 30.

As Choi Jin Hyuk will transform into a rocker for the special collaboration stage, many are anticipating his performance. Choi Jin Hyuk already captured the ears of many people who heard him sing on the official soundtrack of MBC’s “Gu Family Book,” so fans are looking forward to seeing him sing on stage.

“(Many) are interested on seeing how Choi Jin Hyuk will transform. He will show the vocal color and visual (of a rocker) that will meet the viewers’ expectations,” said a broadcasting representative. The rep also added that the actor is currently squeezing in a lot of rehearsal time even while he’s busy with his drama, “Pride and Prejudice.”

Aside from Choi Jin Hyuk’s special performance, fans also anticipate the awards ceremony wherein the actor is nominated for the Most Popular Actor Award and the Best Couple Award.

Last year, Choi Jin Hyuk was nominated for the Male Rookie Actor Award for his performance in “Gu Family Book” but failed to grab the award.

The 2014 MBC Drama Awards will air on December 30, 8:55 p.m. (KST)
