"What's With This Family" Viewership Surpasses 40 Percent, Setting New Record for Show
Viewership for the KBS 2TV weekend drama “What’s With This Family” has surpassed 40 percent, according to media research company Nielsen.
According to the company’s measurements, the 39th episode of the drama drew 41.2 percent of national viewership when it aired on December 28. This is five percentage points higher than Episode 38, which aired December 27 and garnered 36.2 percent viewership. The 41.2 percent figure is a new record for the show, marking the first time its viewership has exceeded 40 percent. Along with the new record, the drama has solidified itself as the nation’s top weekend drama and is continuing the domination of KBS’s weekend dramas following the conclusion of “Wang’s Family” in February 2014.
Meanwhile, MBC weekend dramas “The Legendary Witch” and “Rosy Lovers” achieved 26.1 and 19.2 percent viewership, respectively, while SBS weekend drama “Birth of a Beauty” recorded 5.7 percent viewership.
