HyunA's "Red" Makes Rolling Stone's List of Best Music Videos of 2014
HyunA’s “Red” made the 10 Best Music Videos of 2014 ranked by Rolling Stone.
“Red” by HyunA placed fifth in the list that includes music videos from all around the world, and is the only K-pop music video that made it to the list.
Rolling Stone describes “Red” by saying, “HyunA’s K-pop hit is a schizophrenic mess,” and goes on to praise it for keeping up the visuals with fast-paced video and using “wild images [to] bring its lyrics to life.”
Rolling Stone also addresses the broadcast ban of “Red” in KBS saying, “Some major Korean broadcasters thought the original video was too hot for TV, which means it might just right for an American crossover.”
Meanwhile, the first place was taken by Sia’s “Chandelier,” followed by DJ Snake feat. Lil Jon‘s “Turn Down for What” and Beyonce’s “Pretty Hurts” in second and third place respectively.
