SHINee's Jonghyun Drops Video and Photo Teasers for Solo Debut "Base"
SM Entertainment has kicked off the new year with a bang.
Following the release of a mysterious teaser on January 1, it has now been confirmed that SHINee‘s Jonghyun will be this year’s first SM artist to go solo.
Jonghyun’s first mini album, “Base,” is set to drop on January 12, which marks the launch of his solo activities for the first time since SHINee’s debut six years ago. Well known and extremely loved for his charming voice, Jonghyun has also earned recognition for his songwriting skills. He personally wrote the lyrics to SHINee’s “Juliette” and “Honesty,” as well as composed IU‘s “Gloomy Clock” and Son Dam Bi‘s “Red Candle,” among many other songs.
The teaser photos for the highly anticipated solo debut were unveiled on January 2. A teaser clip was also be released, and offers a deeper look into the album’s concept. The video shows Jonghyun with his hands chained up, and he narrates, “The reason why we crave danger more. Why we enjoy it more.”
Jonghyun will be launching extensive promotions for “Base.” Starting off with KBS’ “Music Bank” on January 9, Jonghyun is scheduled to promote his album on all major music shows.
