Ji Sung Rescues Hwang Jung Eum from Fire in “Kill Me, Heal Me” Stills
Actor Ji Sung shot a daring scene in which he saves actress Hwang Jung Eum from a burning building.
The stills from the “Kill Me, Heal Me” scene show an unconscious Oh Ri Jin, played by Hwang Jung Eum, who is saved by Cha Do Hyun (Ji Sung).
The scene took a whopping 12 hours to complete. With only one shot at filming the scene with live explosions, the actors had to make sure they were ready with their lines and act. But the lead actors persevered until they were sure they could shoot the scene without a single hiccup.
The set was wired to explode with fire, and the bursting shards of glass made the set even more dangerous. Despite the hazards around them, Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum solely focused on their acting and made it through the scene unharmed.
“We didn’t use any CG for the scene, which meant the building was actually exploding, and I’m sure the actors were a bit spooked. However, they kept their cool and focused only on their acting, which is why I think the shot was much better than expected,” said one of the production team members.
“Kill Me, Heal Me” will premiere January 7, 10 p.m. KST on MBC.
