Jang Geun Suk on Filming 'Three Meals a Day': 'I Am Now a Dishwashing Champion'

‘Prince of Asia’ Jang Geun Suk confessed that living on a remote island with his acting seniors Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin was far from a relaxing holiday.

From December 19 to 23, the three stars filmed PD Na Young Suk‘s latest variety show Three Meals a Day – Fishing Village Edition” on Manjae-do, which is a six-hour ferry ride away from the coast. The second shoot took place in the beginning of this month. The actors were challenged to prepare all of their daily meals themselves using ingredients found on the tiny islet.

PD Na Young Suk revealed to Newsen after wrapping up the first shoot, “As Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin share a long history together, they were extremely comfortable with each other also at the filming location. Actually, they bickered about everything and got annoyed with each other.”

“Jang Geun Suk, who got caught up in the middle, could not really do anything about it, and he had no choice but to deal with the physical and emotional labor,” the PD talked about the hardships that the group’s youngest faced.

Jang Geun Suk himself shared his thoughts with Newsen on January 7. He said, “The shoot was a lot of fun. It was cold and the wind was strong, which made everything more tiring, but mentally, I felt very comfortable.”

“Although it was physically demanding to follow orders from Cha Seung Won and Yoo Hae Jin, my mind was at ease. Filming ‘Three Meals a Day’ has turned me into a rice cooking and dishwashing champion,” the actor revealed, evoking laughter with his honesty.

The pilot episode of “Three Meals a Day – Fishing Village Edition” will air on January 16.
