SHINee’s Jonghyun Praises Taemin and Kyuhyun’s Solo Work at “BASE” Showcase
SHINee member Jonghyun has explained how impressed he has been with the solo debuts made by his fellow group member Taemin and Super Junior’s Kyuhyun.
The showcase for Jonghyun solo debut album “BASE” was held on January 8. During the event, Jonghyun performed tracks from the new album and talked about his upcoming release.
Speaking to the press, Jonghyun explained, “I have been very impressed with Taemin’s solo career so far. I hope that people appreciate how talented he is. Even though I might not be the most prominent figure in K-Pop, I also did what I could to help spread the word about his solo career.”
Jonghyun added, “Although I have not really had the chance to speak to Taemin in detail about the matter, I had the chance to see and learn a lot of things by following his solo activities.”
Jonghyun also praised fellow SM Entertainment star Kyuhyun, who also recently released his solo debut album, and explained, “People call Kyuhyun ‘the salmon,’ because he swam upstream to the top of the charts. Some consider our company’s music releases to be weak, but I think Kyuhyun did a great job proving doubters wrong, and I have to admit I am slightly jealous of how successful he has already been.”
“BASE” is set to drop on January 12. While waiting, you may check out the highlight medley here.
