
JOO's Contract with JYP Expires
Singer JOO will be leaving JYP Entertainment and became a free agent after a warm goodbye.
A number of associates in the industry said on January 20, “JOO’s seven-year contract with JYP expired last week.”
According to these associate, JOO’s seven-year contract with JYP began with her debut in January of 2008, and it recently ended.
As JOO spent her time and built relationships with JYP, it was found that the separation was in a warm atmosphere. One of the associates said, “Both the parties talked about what would be best for JOO in the future, and with the wish that they would both be able to move ahead, ended the contract in a warm atmosphere.”
It was reported that JOO will be now be looking for a new agency after having left JYP.
JOO became a trainee under JYP Entertainment after her appearance on SBS’s “Superstar Survival” in 2006, and made her debut in January of 2008. After that, she undertook a variety of challenges including musicals “Youthful March” and “Catch Me If You Can,” as well as the drama “Dream High” and movie “Marriage Blue.” She is also known to be BtoB‘s Jung Il Hoon’s older sister.
