Eight Rappers Battle to Collaborate with Zico and AOA Jimin Cries during Interview in "Unpretty Rapstar"

Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar” finally unveiled its first episode. Just like the title of the show predicted, behind the scene interviews of the eight rappers were full of chilling criticisms aimed at other rappers in the show.

On January 29, Jessi, Jimin, Tymee, Cheetah, Jolly V, and other rappers were given a challenge called “100 second Cypher.” The loser of the challenge was to be disqualified from the chance to collaborate with Block B’s Zico for his new song.

During the individual behind-the-scene interviews, the rappers were highly critical of one another. Jolly V and Tymee, who had met each other earlier in Mnet’s “Show Me the Money,” dissed each other during the interview. When the other contestants asked if they were friends, they both replied sharply, “I don’t know her; we’re not close at all.”

Meanwhile, AOA‘s Jimin cried in the interview saying, “Why would an Idol come out to a hip hop program? It’s because I like hip hop. I feel like nobody recognizes me [as a rapper].”

The first episode foretold that upcoming episodes would be filled with vicious battles between the eight rap stars. The show airs every Thursday at 11 p.m. KST.
