4Minute: "We've Given Up on Male Fans This Time Around"
In an interview with Star News, the ladies of girl group 4Minute shared their thoughts on their brand new music video “Crazy.”
Jiyoon: “Crazy” is in the trap hip hop genre. We contemplated a lot on how to pull off something hard from [the] hip hop [genre]. EDM and old hip hop were also options, but we also considered what’s trending [right now], so that the public won’t be averse when they hear it. [We wanted] something hard and upbeat but something that mainstream audiences can [sing along to]. We made sure that [the song] wasn’t boring, keeping everyone’s part fresh [and interesting].
Jihyun: [The music video] features the unique character of each of 4Minute’s five members.
HyunA: You see, we are the first girl group to try something like this, so I think a lot of fun things will happen going forward. There is an area that I am a little worried about. [“Crazy”] is going to be a hit or miss. It’ll either be really loved or hated with people saying things like “I knew it, girl groups should just be pretty.”
Together: We’ve given up on male fans this time around (laughs).
Gayoon: [This album] will be 4Minute’s fiercest album yet from the music to choreography to the styling.
