Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum Improvise Epic Rap Battle Scene on "Kill Me, Heal Me"

Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum proved that they are masters of improvising.

On the episode of MBC’s “Kill Me, Heal Me” aired on February 11, Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum’s rap battle was the high point of the show.

During a scene in which the two are fighting over wearing a tie, Hwang Jung Eum says, “You’re not a little kid. Put your tie back on,” to Ji Sung, who discarded his tie because it is uncomfortable. Despite her warnings, he refuses, saying, “I’m not putting it on. Get rid of it.” In response, Hwang Jung Eum firmly says, “I’m not getting rid of it. Put it on.”

Soon the two keep on repeating “I’m not putting it on. Get rid of it” and “I’m not getting rid of it. Put it on,” adding rhythm to their speech as if they are in a rap battle.

Surprisingly, this scene was completely improvised.

“The rap battle scene that went viral was impromptu,” a representative told TV Report on February 12. “Even though it wasn’t in the script, the two were able to pull it off smoothly because of their excellent teamwork.”

Meanwhile, this episode reached rates of 10.9 percent, ranking first place among Wednesday-Thursday dramas.
