MBC to Air Infinity Challenge Special "Saturday Saturday is a Singer" Documentary during Lunar New Year Holiday

MBC has announced that it will be revisiting the popular “Saturday Saturday is a Singer” special of “Infinity Challenge” for the Lunar Yew Year holiday.

According to an MBC representative, a special behind-the-scenes documentary of the special will air on February 20, although its exact length and broadcast time have not yet been determined. The documentary will give audiences a window into the creation process of the special, lasting from October to December, and will feature special interviews, stories from the set, and more.

The original “Saturday Saturday is a Singer” special featured some of Korea’s first modern idols take the stage, including S.E.S., Turbo, So Chan Whee, Cool, Kim Gun Mo, and Jinusean. The show was a spectacular success, achieving 22.2 percent viewership and launching its popular 90’s singers back into the spotlight. Following the special’s broadcast, many 90’s hits also made their way back into the music charts.
