Kris and Luhan’s Lunar New Year Broadcast Appearance in China Canceled

It is being reported that former EXO members Kris (Wu Yi Fan) and Luhan’s scheduled broadcast appearance on  CCTV’s ‘Lunar New Year Gala’ in China has been canceled.

According to a report by Chinese media outlet Sohu on February 14, Kris and Luhan did not take part in the fifth rehearsal for the upcoming special broadcast, which took place on this day. The report speculated that the reason behind their absence lies in the ongoing legal battle with SM Entertainment. A representative of the ‘Lunar New Year Gala’ confirmed that the two were not present at rehearsals.

Also on this day, CCTV’s official Weibo removed two segments that were originally planned, changing the total number of segments from 38 to 36. It is said that the segment in which Kris and Luhan were expected to take the stage is one of the two that were deleted.

Just a couple of days ago, on February 12, Kris and Luhan were interviewed at the rehearsal set during CCTV’s live news broadcast, during which they shared their thoughts on participating in the ‘Lunar New Year Gala.’ Fans are expressing much disappointment at the sudden cancellation of their appearance.

Local media outlets in China have reported that the cancellation is related to SM Entertainment’s lawsuit against the two former EXO members for a violation of their contract with the agency.
