Hong Jin Young Was Careful Not to Eat Out with Guy Friends Being Part of "We Got Married"

Hong Jin Young, who is virtually married to actor Nam Goong Min in TV show “We Got Married,” spoke her thoughts on the program and her on-screen husband.

Although the couple’s anniversary is approaching, as they joined the show last March, Hong Jin Young and Nam Goong Min have not been involved in love scandals or controversies, unlike many other couples in the show.

When asked to give her opinion on the recent controversies, Hong Jin Young said she didn’t want to give an opinion as a third person without knowing the details of what really happened. Instead, she revealed her own philosophy of being part of the show.

“I like doing my best with everything. Although it’s a virtual marriage, I thought that I should focus on [the marriage] and be careful with my actions. Because when one becomes part of a gossip while being on this program, a lot of people can be damaged including the show, the people involved in the rumor, and one’s virtual spouse. That’s why I was really careful during the year,” she shared.

She revealed how she tried to avoid love scandals. “I actually didn’t eat with guys while being on ‘We Got Married.’ Unless it was hanging out with more than four people, I didn’t show up. When you eat with one guy, you can create a dating rumor. And if you meet with two guys, there can be a rumor that I am going out with one of them. So I tried hard to keep this kind of details in mind. I get really happy when viewers say, ‘She is doing her part really well,’ or ‘She works hard.'”

Hong Jin Young also recognized that there is some burden in choosing to go on the show, and added, “But I think it’s a burden I have to bear. Because I’ve been on the program for a while, I am very fond of it.”

She thanked Nam Goong Min for being a good virtual-husband and said, “It’s not something I could have done by myself. In that sense, he is such a wonderful person.”
