Sizzling onscreen last year as a leading man opposite Uhm Jung Hwa in “A Witch’s Romance.” I call it the time a new k-drama crush got added to my roster.

Park Seo Joon cozied up to Han Groo and manipulated a few relationships as Min Soo in “A Word From Warm Heart.” The role had the actor flexing a character between sensitivity and anger, leaning from revenge to remorse.

Maybe you saw him dance battling onscreen alongside Kang So Ra, JB, and Jinwoon in the 2012 drama “Dream High 2.” Or as Park Hyun Tae on “Pots of Gold.” Or his current hosting duties on KBS’s weekly show, “Music Bank.”

What caught my attention was his performance early on in his career, in Bang Yong Guk’s music video “I Remember.” His compelling, emotionally raw portrayal left an indelible impression.

Since then, the actor has appeared on “Running Man,” walked onto “Mama” for a cameo, and lent his vocals to some drama soundtracks. Oh, yeah – he’s thrown some modeling credits onto his resume, too.

Park Seo Joon’s taken on particularly hefty roles for a rookie. His work in the past few years have paved the way for a solidly burgeoning career. He won the Best New Actor Award for “Pots of Gold” at the 6th Korea Drama Awards in 2013. His performance on “A Word From Warm Heart” garnered acting nods, ultimately taking home the Best New Star Award at the 2014 SBS Drama Awards.

As Oh Ri On, a popular novelist on “Kill Me, Heal Me,” swapping dialogue with Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum. He’s shown flashes of a comedic side with this character, and a great onscreen brother-sister chemistry with Oh Ri Jin (Hwang Jung Eum).
