Megan Lee to Star in Nickelodeon Musical Series Co-Created by Nick Cannon

American television network Nickelodeon has picked up three new daily scripted series for its 2015-2016 season, including a K-Pop inspired musical comedy series starring singer Megan Lee and actresses Louriza Tronco and Erika Tham. Co-created by Nick Cannon and Thomas W. Lynch, “Make It Pop” is slated to be a 20-episode series, with each episode featuring original music and performances.

The series is set in an international boarding school, and Megan Lee depicts Sun Hi who is from Korea and dreams of becoming a K-Pop star. In a way very much similar to Megan Lee’s actual story, Sun Hi uses social media to gain exposure and recognition for her talent. She bonds with fellow schoolmates and K-Pop enthusiasts Jodi (played by Louriza Tronco) and Corki (Erika Tham), eventually forming a K-Pop band with them that goes on to compete for a spot in the school musical.

Meanwhile, Megan Lee filed a lawsuit six months into her debut last year against her management agency Soulshop Entertainment regarding a contract dispute. In an official statement, Megan Lee’s representative alleged that the agency signed Megan Lee to the musical “All Shook Up” without her permission and that she received unfair treatment as well as verbal abuse. The lawsuit is still pending.
