Super Junior's Donghae and Eunhyuk Have Prepared for Their Duo since They Were 15
It’s been a long time coming for Super Junior-D&E.
On March 5, the duo presented their first studio album “The Beat Goes On” to the public at their showcase held at SMTOWN Coex Artium at 6 p.m.
During the event, Eunhyuk revealed to the press, “I’ve been preparing for this with Donghae since we were 15 years old. As we have prepared for a long time, I’m excited and nervous.” Donghae followed up with, “I thought that out of all Super Junior members, Eunhyuk would be the one that makes me shine the most. I’m also glad to meet our domestic fans.”
When asked why their unit name starts with Donghae’s initial, Eunhyuk laughed, “I’m older, tall, and handsome, so E&D would have felt like everything ended even before it even started,” and then went on to reveal the real reason, “Donghae and Eunhyuk sounds better than Eunhyuk and Donghae.”
In regards to the feel and image of their unit, the two shared, “Instead of bright pop music, we are able to show a wide range of our performances, and the charm of them, through D&E.”
The duo is known for their brother-like relationship, and when asked about the reason for teaming up, Donghae replied, “Our height is nearly the same, and we like similar style of music. We have also worked on our special talents together since ‘Super Show 1.’ As we have worked together since then, we just ended up here.”
Eunhyuk explained his side of the story, “There are other members that would like to work with us. Siwon, who is the same age as us, hinted that he’d like to collaborate, but I said to him, joking, ‘You’re working hard on acting, so just act.’ In addition to Siwon, Leeteuk also wants to work together. But I’m satisfied with just us two.”
“It’s been a while since we last saw our fans, and during the year that we prepared for this, we’ve anticipated the moment we get to see our fans. We will promote actively,” the unit shared their thoughts on coming back with their first full-length album.
“The Beat Goes On” drops on March 6 at midnight.
