G-Dragon to Hold First-Ever Solo Hologram Concert in April
On April 1, G-Dragon will hold his first-ever solo hologram concert entitled “Awake” at the Seoul Dongdaemun K-Live.
He is slated to perform hit songs “Heartbreaker,” “Crayon,” “Who You?,” “Crooked,” and more. Fans will be able to experience G-Dragon’s passion for music in a unique virtual reality space that uses cutting-edge new media technology like projection mapping and three-dimensional video.
Through the use of telepresence technology, G-Dragon’s concert will provide an upgraded virtual reality experience that is more interactive and experiential than usual hologram concerts.
Telepresence combines virtual reality technology and Internet technology to create the illusion that a remote person is present. G-Dragon will use telepresence to invite an audience member up to the stage and sing to him or her “in person” during his performance of “Who You?”
Meanwhile, G-Dragon’s concert is being produced by NIK Limited, a joint new media venture by YG Entertainment, d’strict, KT, and Paradise.
