"Angry Mom" PD Nagged Kim Hee Sun for Over a Month to Join the Drama

“Angry Mom” PD Choi Byung Kil revealed that he nagged Kim Hee Sun for over a month to get her on the drama.

On March 17, PD Choi Byung Kil and the cast of new MBC Wednesday-Thursday drama “Angry Mom,” including Kim Hee Sun, Ji Hyun Woo, Kim Yoo Jung, Oh Yoon Ah and B1A4’s Baro, attended a press conference at MBC’s new building in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

During the conference, Choi Byung Kil shared, “The female protagonist has to play both the role of a mother and a high school student. The first person that came to mind was Kim Hee Sun.”

He continued, “I thought that the only person who could pull off Jo Kang Ja was Kim Hee Sun, and I nagged her for over a month. She is the very first actor we casted.”

Meanwhile, “Angry Mom” tells the story of a young mother who returns to high school in order to protect her daughter who is getting bullied. The drama is set to premiere on March 18 on MBC.
