Song Ji Hyo to Sing a Duet with Taiwanese Artist Kenji Wu
Song Ji Hyo is collaborating again with top Taiwanese singer-songwriter Kenji Wu but this time on “You Are Cute” (working title), a duet track on his upcoming album.
On March 26, the actress’s management agency C-JeS Entertainment revealed, “Following the movie ‘708090,’ Song Ji Hyo will be participating in Kenji Wu’s new album ‘Person Counting Stars’ (working title), which is slated for an April release.
“Last month, she recorded the new song ”‘You Are Cute” and went to Taiwan for the filming of the music video per Kenji Wu’s invitation.”
He reportedly had a good impression of her when they worked together on the film and proposed that they work together again in the future. While helping one another learn Korean and Chinese on set, they added a melody to some Chinese words, which became the foundation for “You Are Cute.”
Kenji Wu profusely complimented Song Ji Hyo on her pronunciation and singing despite her not being used to recording, let alone singing in Chinese, “Song Ji Hyo not only learns Chinese at a surprising speed, her sense of rhythm is so exceptional that I think she has genius-like talent.”
Moreover, Kenji Wu expressed his gratitude to Song Ji Hyo for participating in the music video by gifting her with a ukulele. On March 23, Song Ji Hyo uploaded a video onto her Weibo with the caption, “The guitar that Kenji Wu oppa gifted me..!” In the video, she sings “You Are Cute” with her new ukulele.
