Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – March Week 4

Shinhwa’s “Sniper” continues its winning way, taking home four more music show wins last week and easily repeats as our No. 1 for the second week in a row. With the exception of Music Bank, “Sniper” repeated as winner on all other shows. This song the most dominant track Shinhwa has in a long long time. Congratulations again to Shinhwa!

Moving up 16 spots to No. 2 is one of the two new songs from Ga In. “Apple” is one of the two title tracks from Ga In’s fourth mini-album “Hawwah.” Veteran hit maker Park Geun Tae wrote this song, which has jazz piano and a funky melody. Ga In’s impressive vocal matches well with Jay Park’s rapping.

Ga In’s second hit “Paradise Lost” also moves up 16 spots to No. 5. Carrying the same theme as “Apple,” this song refers to Adam and Eve being driven out of Eden after tasting the forbidden apple. Written by Ga In’s long time collaborators Lee Min Soo and Kim Ina, “Paradise Lost” has powerful pipe organ, electric guitar, and rough string sound. The chorus part stands out with additive melody.

There are two other new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up three spots and scoring their first top 10 hit is seven member female group Lovelyz. Their song “Hi~” moves up three spots to No. 8 this week. This song is the title track from Lovelyz’s repackaged first album. It features the members’ sweet voices with sugar coated melody expressing the thrill of confessing and falling in love.

Also scoring their first top 10 hit is Boyfriend, who finally made it into the top 10 after debuting four years ago. Their song “Bounce” moves up 32 big spots to No. 10. This song is from the group’s fourth mini-album “Boyfriend in Wonderland.” It is a powerful dance song about a man who is totally into a woman, who always seems to be wavering, bouncing back and forth.
