“Tutoring Across Generations” Suffers Ratings Drop, to Be Canceled

MBC variety program “Tutoring Across Generations” will be canceled and replaced by dating show “Match Made in Heaven Returns.”

In a phone call with YTN PLUS, a representative of “Tutoring Across Generations” insisted that MBC’s decision to shutter the program didn’t have to do with the recent controversy surrounding Lee Tae Im and Yewon’s exchange while filming the show, “‘The decision to cancel ‘Tutoring Across Generations’ is not due to the Yewon, Lee Tae Im controversy. After discussion, we made our decision because of the sluggish viewer ratings.”

Since premiering in October of last year, “Tutoring Across Generations” had consistently recorded a viewer rating in the 2 to 4 percent range. However, following the Lee Tae Im and Yewon conflict, the show’s ratings dropped below 2 percent for the first time ever, drooping to 1.7 percent in the past few weeks.

“With today’s (April 2) episode 21, ‘Tutoring Across Generations’ will be discontinued. Dating variety show ‘Match Made Returns’ will take over [the time slot] starting April 9,” the representative said.
