Eric Nam Talks Auditioning for SM and Struggling to Adjust to Korea
Singer and television host Eric Nam opens up about auditioning for SM Entertainment and his struggles with adjusting to life in Korea in a new pictorial and interview with bnt International.
In the photos, Eric Nam showcases his diverse charms as he takes on three different concepts. In the first set, the singer’s poses and expressions are as quirky and playful as his polka-dot suit and flirty hair.
He then takes on a more innocent flower boy look, swaddling himself in a blanket while surrounded by his stuffed animal friends.
For the final set, Eric Nam sheds the cute and playful for a more serious, charismatic look.
In the corresponding interview, the American-bred singer reveals that he used to suffer from insomnia and depression as he struggled to adapt to life in Korea but that he has completely adjusted now.
He also shares about being asked to dance at an SM Entertainment audition. He says that he denied the request by saying, “I can’t dance.”
Eric Nam laughs and says, “I think [I refused] because I didn’t really know what an idol singer was back then.”
Meanwhile, Eric Nam recently released his second digital single “I’m OK.”
