Kim Sa Eun Tells Story of When Sungmin Got Drunk with Her Father

Actress Kim Sa Eun recently revealed the story of when her husband Sungmin (Super Junior) came over to her home to request her parents for her hand in marriage.

Needless to say, much alcohol was ingested.

On the recent episode of SBS’ “One-Hundred-Year Guest,” Kim Sa Eun says that as a total bundle of nerves, in his first drinking encounter with her dad, Sungmin ended up drinking nine bottles of soju. Nine! That’s roughly 67 shots of soju. Sixty-seven! That being said, drinking with your potential son-in-law – sometimes to excess – is very much a common practice in Korea.

Sungmin and her dad ended up drunk in the wee hours of the morning, and able to do little more than just continuously shake hands, they parted ways. Kim Sa Eun says, “He was so nervous and on edge that even after drinking so much, he was walking normally on the way home.”

Announcer Kim Il Joong, who also was a guest on the show, jokes, “But Sungmin is still a problematic son-in-law. He went to the army right after getting married.”
