JYPE and miss A Respond to News of Park Jin Young's "Team Kill," Edging Out miss A for Number One
It was definitely a question that had come up when Park Jin Young’s comeback was announced early in April. Three JYP artists promoting at the same time and competing against each other for a spot at the top of the charts? Park Jin Young with “Who’s Your Mama,” miss A with “Only You,” and Park Ji Min with “Hopeless Love.”
With Park Jin Young’s recent release of “Who’s Your Mama” featuring Jessi, it happened, one JYP artist edging another out on the charts. As of 7 a.m. on April 13 KST, Park Jin Young sat atop eight music charts in Korea, including Mnet, Genie, Olleh, Naver, Daum, etc., effectively pushing miss A’s “Only One” to number two.
miss A members Suzy and Fei responded to the news via Instagram.
Suzy wrote, “#Director #You’re bad #Who’sYourMama #JessiIstheBest,” to which Park Jin Young responded, “You’re the one who recommended Jessi to me, so you’re responsible, too. Don’t hate me too much.”
Fei also posted on Instagram, “This..this.. Am I supposed to cry or laugh? haha.” Park Jin Young responded to Fei, as well: “It’ll go down [on the charts] again soon.”
While it seems the miss A members are just poking fun, a representative of JYP Entertainment clarified with media sources, “It’s just good-natured competition within the family. While some people are calling it a ‘team kill,’ the internal atmosphere is really great. Agency artists are doing a one-two on the charts; there’s no reason to be upset about that. It’s very encouraging.”
