EXO and Red Velvet Bring In Record Number of Teen Viewers for

The KBS talk show “Hello Counselor” managed to attract a record number of viewers from the most coveted demographic: teenagers!

The April 13 episode of the show features members of the groups EXO and Red Velvet, who join the show’s panel to try to help people solve their problems. EXO’s Baekhyun, Chanyeol, and Chen and Red Velvet’s Joy and Yeri all appear on the show, and it seems that many of their fans tuned in to watch.

The hosts ask the groups to give them a short performance of their recent hits, and so the EXO members perform “Call Me Baby” and the girls from Red Velvet perform “Ice Cream Cake.”

According to TNMS, the episode had a 6.3 percent nationwide rating, which is 0.3 percent higher than the previous week’s. It was also watched by 7.2 percent of viewers in Seoul, which is an increase of 0.7 percent from the last episode.

The episode was particularly more popular with teenaged viewers than usual, which illustrates the fact that EXO and Red Velvet have strong fan bases in that age group. The episode achieved a rating of 2.4 percent of both male and female viewers between the ages of 10 and 20. This is the highest rating for that demographic in the past six weeks.
