CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa to Be First Korean Star Ever to Appear on Chinese Comedy Show “Diors Man”
CNBLUE‘s Jung Yong Hwa will appear on season four of the Chinese comedy and variety show “Diors Man” and star as a friend of Da Peng, the host of the show. He will be the first ever Korean star to make an appearance on “Diors Man.”
Representatives of “Diors Man” say, “Jung Yong Hwa is one of the Hallyu artists who understands the Chinese culture very well. Thanks to his efforts and the many requests from our Chinese fans, we decided to contact him for a casting offer.”
Jung Yong Hwa responded enthusiastically to “Diors Man” casting call. After a recent filming in Beijing, it is said that he received praise for his dandy looks and professionalism, not being afraid to step out of his comfort-zone when necessary.
“Diors Man” is a Chinese SNL-like online sketch comedy and variety show with Chinese actresses Tang Wei and Fan Bingbing, German actress Martina Hill, and other famous stars guest-starring in various episodes. Season three of the show ended with getting over a billion views and proved to be a very popular show among the Chinese audience. Season four will air mid-May but Jung Yong Hwa’s special appearance date is yet to be determined.
The singer-turned-actor has won two awards at the 2015 Hong Kong Weibo Star Awards for being “The Hottest Korean Star” and “Gaon-Weibo Chart’s Most Influential Korean Star,” confirming his explosive popularity in China.
