2PM and GOT7 Comebacks Delayed, JYP Announces Plan for Legal Action in Official Statement

On the morning of May 11, JYP Entertainment released an official statement through their home page regarding a delay on the music videos for 2PM and GOT7.

Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.

We recently received a one-sided announcement from a rep of director Han Sa Min of DEXTERLAB, with whom we had been working on [2PM’s] music video, saying that “Because of relations with an artist that is making a release at the same time, we will be unable to move forward with the filming.” This came just four days before the filming was supposed to begin.

Moreover, on the same day, we were suddenly told the same from director Kim Ji Yong of Fantasy Lab, with whom we were working on a music video for our agency artist GOT7.

Because of the above irresponsible actions, we must now start over with our music video planning, filming, album release schedule, and our marketing plan. 

Our company will be taking strict legal action against these two production companies for the losses incurred by us and our artists as a result of these nonsensical, irresponsible actions.

We sincerely apologize for the delay of the album release, as we know how much fans have been waiting. We promise to do everything in our power to prevent this from happening again.
