Lawsuit Against Jang Dong Min To Be Dropped After Exchange of Hand-Written Letters

Though Jang Dong Min was sued by a survivor of the Sampong Department Store collapse for defamation, his managing agency Koen Stars released on May 13 that the comedian is now off the hook.

According to his managing agency, Jang Dong Min sincerely apologized to the plaintiff by passing on a hand-written apology letter. The plaintiff, too, responded through a hand-written letter.

On the content of the plaintiff’s letter, Koen Stars said, “The reply expressed hopes that Jang Dong Min’s sincerity would always stay genuine. It was also written that charges would be dropped.”

“Jang Dong Min has been continuously expressing his deepest apologies towards those who were offended with the help of his managing agency. We will take this case as a lesson to heart and make sure that we work on displaying our best sides,” they added.

Meanwhile, Jang Dong Min had previously been sued by a survivor of the Samppong Deparment Store collapse because of his demoralizing comments back in 1995 on “Dreaming Radio.”
