EXID Reveals Which Artist Was Originally Supposed to Sing “Up & Down”
EXID reveals a surprising behind-the-scenes story about how they came to sing their hit song “Up & Down.”
During a recent recording of KBS’ music and talk show “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” EXID appeared as guests to promote their second mini album titled “Ah Yeah.” The members also showcased a never-before-seen ‘band version’ performance of their chart reversal track “Up & Down.”
When EXID first appeared on “Sketchbook” two years ago, they were only able to perform, but with their rise in popularity since, they expressed, “We didn’t get to talk that time, but being able to talk today feels like a dream. For artists like us, this stage is a dream stage. Thank you for listening to our stories and giving us the opportunity to speak.”
The group also confessed that the original owner of the song “Up & Down” was supposed to be Jessi (“Unpretty Rapstar“). Member LE, who composed and wrote the song, explained, “While I was recording with Jessi after making ‘Up & Down,’ [Jessi] told me she thought EXID would match better with this song, which is how EXID ended up with the song.”
This broadcast of “Sketchbook” is scheduled to air on May 16 at 12:15 a.m. (KST).
