Girl’s Day’s Hyeri Confirmed for "Reply 1988" alongside Go Kyung Pyo, Park Bo Gum, and More

The casting lineup for new tvN drama “Reply 1988” has been finalized!

On May 18, tvN officially announced Girl’s Day’s Hyeri, Ryu Hae Young, Go Kyung Pyo, Ryu Joon Yeol, Park Bo Gum, Ahn Jae Hong, Lee Dong Hwi, and Choi Sung Won as part of the finalized cast for the drama. A representative said, “Other details about characters and time and date will be announced as they are determined.”

Previously, casting PD Shin Won Ho had commented, “We are not just looking for only no-name [actors] or A-list stars” and “just like for ‘Reply 1997’ and ‘Reply 1994,’ we’re looking for just two things. The first is being fit for the character that we have created, and the second is being able to act well. Of course, whenever those with potential explode through the drama, it’s a win-win situation.”

Indeed, the finalized cast is quite diverse in experience and exposure. Choi Sung Won, for one, is a musical actor. Hyeri, Ryu Hae Young, Go Kyung Po, and Park Bo Gum have experience on the small screen while Ahn Jae Hong and Lee Dong Hwi have garnered acclaim for their independent film work.

“Reply 1988” is slated to air later this year.
