10 Delectable Dessert-Inspired Korean Cosmetics You Must Try!

Cosmetics and dessert. There’s something about the intersection of these two seemingly unrelated things that feels so irresistible. Maybe it’s the sensory overload of sweet scents and pastel colors that both tend to provide, or the feeling of luxurious indulgence. Whatever it is, almost every cosmetics brand has capitalized on this perfect match by launching at least one line of dessert-inspired makeup. And when they do, we’re always on top of it. Sweets and makeup – how can you resist?

Etude House Give Me Chocolate Eyes

This spring, Etude House launched a collection of chocolate-themed makeup. Without a doubt, the standout is the Give Me Chocolate eyeshadow palette. Shaped like a tiny chocolate bar dipped in sweet sauce, the palette comes in three delectable but very wearable variations – Cherry Truffle, Salted Caramel, and Cacao Fudge. It may seem gimmicky, but the combination of chocolate brown with shimmery gold, pink, or peach is perfectly wearable on just about anyone!

Tony Moly Appletox Creams

This delicious-looking face cream is the brand’s perennial bestseller – one might say it’s almost as classic as the apple itself! It comes in two variations: The honey cream (in the red jar) combines apple extract and honey to provide firming and smoothing effects, while the massage peeling cream (green jar) uses AHAs to exfoliate the skin. Wash off the peeling cream after 30 seconds, but leave on the honey cream as you would any other moisturizer.

Etude House Dear My Jelly Lips Talk

Last year, Etude House launched its Sweet Recipe collection, featuring a full range of dessert-themed makeup. The whole line was incredibly adorable, so please excuse us for not being able to resist including a few items! Our personal favorite item from the collection was the jelly lipstick. We’re a huge fan of jelly nail polish, so we were intrigued to see how that unique finish would translate on the lips. Result: a moisturizing, slightly sheer, high-shine gloss that you can build up with a few coats.

Etude House Cupcake Eyes

The most adorable item from the Sweet Recipe line. It’s two shades of eye shadow in a cute cupcake-shaped metal pan. The shadows are baked with a smooth, shimmery finish; if you’re looking for some subtle color, you can’t go wrong with one of these! Or two, or three…

Aritaum Honey Melting Tint

We’re moving away from literal inspirations here – Aritaum has more of a mature image, so no cupcake-shaped eye shadows here. With Honey Melting Tint, we’ve got a very wearable, pigmented, and moisturizing formula that’s made it one of the brand’s bestsellers. The names are inspired by fruits and desserts (Raspberry Cake, Apple Tart, Peach Crumble, etc.) and they smell as delicious as they sound!

It’s Skin Macaron Lip Balm

We can’t think of a more adorable lip balm to keep in your purse. Available in strawberry, pineapple, green apple, grape, and chocolate, the formula is as flavorful and great-smelling as it is moisturizing.

Tony Moly Ice Queen Crispy Packs

First, let’s check out the packaging, because it is adorable. How can you pass up that ice-cream-shaped jar? Now as for the name… um… “crispy”? We think it’s referring to the texture of the wash-off gel, which contains little blobs that you can snap between your fingers. It’s kind of weird and not for everyone, but it is definitely interesting. This line has been discontinued for awhile now; it seems to be available in some online shops, but we think you probably shouldn’t risk your skin on such an old product!

Etude House Ice Cream Nails

Not much to say about these… they’re nail polishes in the shape of ice cream cones. Adorable! Unfortunately, again, this product is no longer available in stores, but they were just too adorable for us to pass up.

Skin Food Black Sugar Wash Off Mask

If you know anything about Korean skincare, anything at all, you almost certainly know Skin Food’s Black Sugar Wash Off Mask. The grainy black sugar particles exfoliate, but the consistency is somehow watery enough to provide a refreshing, rather than painful, cleanse. There’s a reason that this product has been a classic for many years!

Tony Moly Strawberry Jam Sugar Scrub

Caution: Do not place this jar in your kitchen! We don’t want to be held responsible for what happens if your roommate or family member ends up spreading this sugar scrub on toast! Honestly, we don’t have much to say about this because we’ve never seen it until just now, so we can’t recommend it at this time. But how adorable is it? We’re definitely planning to stop by the Tony Moly store to pick up a jar – hopefully it smells as delicious as it looks!
