"Producer" Shows Popularity by Grabbing Top Spot in Content Power Index
The popularity of the new KBS drama “Producer” is clear not only in the show’s soaring ratings, but also in its high content power index. A content power index for a show is a figure calculated by the combined news subscriptions, searches, and social media buzz for shows that are aired on both network and cable television.
According to a report by CJ E&M on May 26, “Producer” held the top spot with its content power index for the second week of May, with a total index of 260.9 points.
In second place was the MBC song competition show “King of Mask Singer,” which tends to garner a lot of speculation every week about its contestants’ identities. In third place was tvN‘s “Three Meals a Day.” The producer of the latter show, the celebrated Na Young Suk, said before “Producer” first aired that he was concerned about his show having to compete with the much-hyped drama.
In fourth place for the week of May was SBS‘s “The Girl Who Sees Smells,” which is a big drop from the previous week when it held first place. The KBS drama “Orange Marmalade” took the last spot in the top five.
