"Inkigayo" to Hold Private Recording Due to MERS Concerns
On June 12, SBS’s “Inkigayo” revealed that the June 14 recording will be private due to concerns regarding the MERS outbreak in Korea. The music show usually holds a live broadcast with fans present at recordings. This decision was made in order to avoid any potential spreading of MERS at the show.
Even attendants with reserved tickets will not be allowed to enter the private recording. It appears as though no audience members will be present at the recording.
The MERS outbreak has led to many shows making adjustments. Similar to “Inkigayo,” KBS’s “Gayo Stage” will record without an audience. Other shows like “Gag Concert” and JTBC’s “Off to School” have postponed filming for now.
