Park Bo Young Explains How Cha Tae Hyun Helped Her Stay Humble
On June 15, during an interview with news outlet X Sports News, Park Bo Young mentioned what actor Cha Tae Hyun had said to her during her earlier years and how that still means so much to her today.
With the premiere of her recent film “The Silenced” approaching, she was asked, “Don’t you feel pressured being the main character?” and she answered, “I honestly don’t think, ‘I want this many audience members.’ I know the MERS virus is going to affect [the movie’s success] but I can’t really predict it.”
Branching off from there, Park Bo Young went on to say something that Cha Tae Hyun had told her after her role on the popular film “Speedy Scandal.” This movie had surpassed 8.22 million audience members and experienced massive success.
“After we filmed ‘Speedy Scandal,’ Cha Tae Hyun said, ‘These numbers do not make sense. I want you to think that there will never be such a thing as ‘8.22 million audience members’ in your life again. The reason the movie did well is not because you or I did well. The audience liked it and we happened to release it at just the right time,'” the actress said.
Park Bo Young explained that, back then, she didn’t know if gathering 8.22 million audience members was good or not. Just then, Cha Tae Hyun was able to advise her, “Don’t get greedy,” making her remember his advice to this day– even after her continuously rising popularity with “Werewolf Boy.”
“Cha Tae Hyun taught me so many things. He’s that special to me,” she said smiling.
Meanwhile, her horror film “The Silenced” will premiere on June 18.
