HOTSHOT Talks About Hardships of a Rookie Idol Group

Rookie group HOTSHOT talked about the difficulties in debuting as an idol group.

The hip hop idol group HOTSHOT is coming out with a repackaged album soon, eight months into their debut. The repackaged album will contain a total of seven tracks, and the title track “I’m a Hotshot” is said to be charming and also soft. There will be an experimental rap making section to the song, so it is expected to be a unique experience.

When asked to comment on the fact that they are making a comeback along with a number of popular girl groups this summer, member Jun Hyuk said, “We need to survive. However, it’s also an opportunity. The fans who come to watch our seniors will see us too. We think it’s a great chance to let everyone know about our presence to people who don’t know who we are. We can appeal to them, so I like that more.”

Sung Woon said, “Since this will be a bright concept unlike the one before, we think women will like it. It has a young energy, and also a great performance in the middle of the song. There’s a lot for us to show.”

Member Kid Monster then shared some of the hardships that they face as a rookie idol group, saying, “Honestly, we thought we would get popular right away if we debuted. We worked really hard, and we just ran. After debut, a lot of our thoughts changed. We realized that compared to the seniors’ stages, we are still lacking in skill. So we were disappointed, but it was also an opportunity for us to steel ourselves. This album came out after we practiced with the determination that [it was either this or death]. Please give it a listen.”
