Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – July Week 1

After two weeks at No. 2, BIGBANG’s “Bang Bang Bang” finally overtakes EXO’s “Love Me Right” to become our new No. 1 song. This song won on Inkigayo and M!Countdown last week. It was the perfect timing to capture the top spot as BIGBANG continues to release new songs at the beginning of each month. Songs from the latest “D Series” have been released and will soon replace both “Bang Bang Bang” and “We Like 2 Party,” which also climbed back to No. 7 this week. Congratulations to BIGBANG.

Rounding out the top three is Baek A Yeon’s “Shouldn’t Have,” moving up three spots to No. 3. This surprise hit song is gaining popularity each week and it becomes Baek A Yeon’s first top three hit.

There are two brand new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 11 spots to No. 6 is 2PM’s “My House.” This is the title song from 2PM’s fifth studio album. It is about a guy who is strongly attracted to a woman. 2PM member Jun.K wrote this song. It has simple but addictive arrangement that will capture your attention.

One of last year’s standout rookie female groups Mamamoo is back with their second mini-album “Pink Funky.” The title song “Um Oh Ah Yeah” moves up 13 spots to No. 9 this week. Written by veteran songwriter Kim Do Hoon along with members Moon Byul and Wha Sa, this R&B dance song highlights Mamamoo’s powerful vocals and energy. It tells a fun story in a witty way. Singer Park Bo Ram made a cameo appearance on this song’s MV.
