Weekly K-Pop Music Chart 2015 – July Week 2

After two months of male group domination, female groups take center stage this week as they occupy all the top three spots. The top two songs are both coming from outside of the top 10 last week. SISTAR continues their trend of scoring a No. 1 song every summer as their latest hit “SHAKE IT” moves up 13 spots to the top. This song is the title track of SISTAR’s third mini-album of the same name. It is a tailor made dance beat song for summer. SISTAR’s refreshing vocals along with the funky guitar and drum sounds will make everyone want to dance. “SHAKE IT” won on Inkigayo, Music Bank, and M!Countdown last week. It also has high scores on all other chart sources. Congratulations to SISTAR.

Moving up 14 spots to No. 2 is AOA’s “Heart Attack.” Working once again with Brave Brothers, this song is the title track of AOA’s third mini-album of the same name. It is a refreshing dance song with additive melody, especially on the chorus part. The lyrics tell what it is like to fall in love at first sight. “Heart Attack” won on both of MBC’s music programs: Music Core and Show Champion to prevent a SISTAR sweep. Let see if this song gains enough points to become No. 1 next week.

Moving up six spots and finishing an all-female group top three is Mamamoo’s “Um Oh Ah Yeah.” This talented quartet debuted last year with rave reviews and now they have their first top three hit of their young career.

There is one other new song in the top 10 this week. Moving up 12 spots to No. 6 is Teen Top’s “ah-ah.” It is the title track of Teen Top’s sixth mini-album “Natural Born Teen Top.” It is a dance song with drum beat and catchy arrangement. The lyrics are about a guy who wants to be with his girl 24/7. Teen Top’s emotional vocals are the highlight of this song.
