WINNER’s Mino Personally Apologizes for Controversial Rap From “Show Me the Money 4”
Following the controversy over WINNER Mino’s rap and choice of lyrics on the recent July 10 broadcast of “Show Me the Money 4,” the rapper has posted a public apology via WINNER’s official Facebook.
Mino says:
“Hello. This is WINNER’s Song Mino.
I am sincerely and deeply reflecting on the controversial lyrics that aired through ‘Show Me the Money.’
In competing against other talented rappers through ‘Show Me the Money,’ I felt a lot of pressure to write more aggressive lyrics and choose stronger words, which led me ultimately to a wrong decision.
Once I had the chance to step back and take a look at myself and how wrong I was through the broadcast, I was endlessly embarrassed and ashamed.
Once again, to anyone who may have felt offended or uncomfortable by my mistaken expressions, I sincerely apologize. I will do my absolute best to redeem this mistake caused with music with better music in the future.”

Update:
Earlier, on the afternoon of July 13, the Korean Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (KAOG) expressed that they had taken severe offense from WINNER Mino’s rap on “Show Me the Money 4,” where he says “Open your legs like you’re at the gynecologist.”
They say in their official statement, “Mino not only gave offense to women in Korea, but also Korean obstetricians and gynecologists who work 365 days a year, 24 hours a day for the health of women and future generations. It’s regrettable that his actions have damaged the honor of the 4000 doctors in the organization.”
The KAOG continues, stating that OBGYN offices are places of healthcare, and not “a place to be degraded as somewhere women spread their legs for men.”
They then demand sincere apologies including statements of intent to work hard to prevent the same from happening again from Mino himself (who has delivered), Mino’s agency YG Entertainment, as well as Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 4.”
In the event that no apologies are given, the KAOG states that they will resort to legal action.
