Lee Hyun Woo in Talks to Take Idol Singer Role for New Drama
Actor Lee Hyun Woo is currently considering a singer role for “Martial Arts School” (working title), an upcoming KBS 2TV Monday-Tuesday drama set to air next year in January.
According to an industry insider, Lee Hyun Woo has been offered the role of Yoon Shi Woo, a famous idol star who enters a martial arts school after his fortune takes a downward turn.
The “Martial Arts School” production team are reportedly proactively casting foreign actors to act alongside Korean actors. They are not just limiting themselves to foreign actors active in Korea but plan to fly to China, Thailand, and more, to hold auditions.
Lee Hyun Woo’s recent film “Northern Limit Line” has performed very well in the box office and has earned him a place as one of Korea’s top young actors. If he takes this role, it will be Lee Hyun Woo’s major comeback to the small screen after his leading roles in “Run Toward Tomorrow” and “To the Beautiful You.”
