Cheetah Opens Up About Life-Changing Accident That Almost Squelched Her Music Career

Female rappers Jessi and Cheetah both filmed “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” on July 21 and talked about their past before becoming famous.

Both artists have skyrocketed into the spotlight since their appearance as contestants on Mnet female rapper competition “Unpretty Rapstar,” but Cheetah had actually debuted in 2010 and promoted as part of a girl hip-hop duo Black List and another group Masterpiece with Crush. When asked why the groups didn’t do well, Cheetah answered, “I think our group names explained it,” and laughed.

Cheetah also revealed that she was originally supposed to be a vocalist. She explained, “I moved to Seoul when I was 17 to do music, but then I got into an accident. I underwent brain surgery and my throat was badly damaged that I couldn’t sing anymore.”

But she remained optimistic, sharing that the accident was an important turning point in my life.

Meanwhile, this episode of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” aired on July 24 KST and also featured INFINITE and Dickpunks as guests.
