"Show Me the Money 4" Fined for Failing to Meet Broadcast Standards
Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 4,” which has been under fire for airing controversial lyrics without censorship, is being fined by the Korea Communications Standards Commission. Apparently, this is the heaviest penalty that can be enforced.
On August 5, the Korea Communications Standards Commission unanimously decided to enforce a fine on “Show Me the Money 4” for failing to censor swear words and questionable content on the June 23, June 26, July 3, and July 10 broadcasts. The maximum fine is 50,000,000 KRW (~$50 000 USD), but the exact amount for this case will be decided at a later meeting.
Meanwhile, “Show Me the Money” is a rap survival program that aired its first episode in June 2012. It is currently on its fourth season and airs every Friday at 11 p.m. KST.
